- Assist the Yard Manager in overseeing daily operations of the hardware store yard.
- Ensure the yard is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing inventory in the yard.
- Help customers load and unload merchandise, providing excellent customer service.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, informing management of any shortages or overages.
- Assist in creating and implementing efficient yard layout and organization systems.
- Train and supervise yard staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely completion of customer orders.
- Safely operate and maintain yard equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Keep track of yard sales and assist with customer inquiries and orders.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Maintain knowledge of products and services offered by the hardware store to assist customers and make recommendations.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the store's exterior, including parking lot and landscaping.
- Participate in periodic inventory counts and assist with reconciling discrepancies.
- Continuously strive to improve the efficiency and productivity of the yard operations.
Experience In Retail Management: A Potential Candidate For The Assistant Yard Manager Job At Ace Hardware Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Managing A Retail Store Or Department.
