- Monitor and maintain mainframe systems to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors that may arise in the mainframe environment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, system updates, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and functioning of mainframe systems.
- Continuously monitor system performance and proactively identify any potential problems.
- Respond promptly to any system alerts or failures and take necessary actions to resolve them.
- Ensure compliance with company security protocols and policies while managing mainframe systems.
- Provide timely and accurate updates to management and other teams regarding the status of mainframe systems.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of mainframe operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients, addressing any queries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in mainframe technology to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement best practices for mainframe operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, while performing job duties.
Proficiency In Mainframe Operating Systems: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Technical Skills And Experience In Working With Mainframe Operating Systems Such As Z/Os, Z/Vm, And Z/Vse. Knowledge Of Jcl, Cobol, And Other Mainframe Programming Languages Is Also Required.
Experience In Online Console Operations: The Candidate Should Have Hands-On Experience In Managing Online Console Operations, Including Monitoring System Performance, Responding To System Alerts, And Executing System Commands. A Strong Understanding Of System Performance Metrics And System Utilities Is Also Required.
Service Management Experience: The Candidate Should Have Experience In Service Management, Including Incident Management, Problem Management, And Change Management Processes. Knowledge Of Itil Framework And Experience In Working With Service Management Tools Such As Servicenow Is Preferred.
Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Work With A Team Of Operators, Developers, And Other Stakeholders. Strong Problem-Solving And Decision-Making Skills Are Also Required To Handle Critical Situations.
Certifications And Training: The Candidate Should Have Relevant Certifications Such As Ibm Certified System Administrator For Z/Os, And Training In Service Management Processes And Tools. Any Additional Certifications Or Training In Mainframe Technologies Would Be An Added Advantage.
