  1. Manage and maintain clients' critical database systems utilizing DB2 Mainframe technology.
  2. Collaborate with a team of professionals to troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues.
  3. Design and implement database solutions to meet clients' business needs and improve performance.
  4. Monitor database performance and implement necessary optimizations to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  5. Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  6. Stay updated with the latest DB2 Mainframe technology advancements and trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  7. Assist in the planning and execution of database migration, upgrades, and patches.
  8. Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, policies, and procedures.
  9. Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and provide effective database solutions.
  10. Train and mentor junior database administrators on DB2 Mainframe best practices and procedures.
  11. Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to provide timely updates on database-related activities.
  12. Adhere to security and compliance standards while managing and maintaining databases.
  13. Continuously monitor and ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of database systems.
  14. Identify and troubleshoot database-related issues proactively, and recommend solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  15. Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when necessary.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Db2 Mainframe: The Primary Qualification For A Db2 Mainframe Database Administrator At Accenture Is A Strong Understanding Of Db2 Mainframe Database Management. This Includes Experience With Database Design, Performance Tuning, Backup And Recovery, And Troubleshooting.

  • Mainframe System Administration: In Addition To Db2 Mainframe Expertise, A Db2 Mainframe Database Administrator Should Also Have Experience With System Administration For Mainframe Systems. This Includes Proficiency In Z/Os, Jcl, And Other Mainframe Operating Systems.

  • Experience With Data Modeling: A Strong Background In Data Modeling Is Essential For A Db2 Mainframe Database Administrator At Accenture. This Includes The Ability To Design Logical And Physical Data Models, Create Entity-Relationship Diagrams, And Translate Business Requirements Into Data Structures.

  • Strong Sql And Programming Skills: A Db2 Mainframe Database Administrator Should Have Strong Sql And Programming Skills To Effectively Manage And Manipulate Data Within The Database. This Includes Experience With Languages Such As Cobol, Pl/1, And Assembler.

  • Communication And Teamwork: As A Member Of A Larger Technology Team At Accenture, Effective Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Critical For A Db2 Mainframe Database Administrator. This Includes The Ability To Collaborate With Developers, System Administrators, And Other Stakeholders To Ensure The Smooth Operation Of The Database.
