  1. Manage and maintain DB2 Mainframe databases for clients, ensuring their availability, security, and performance.
  2. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  3. Develop and implement database backup and recovery procedures.
  4. Collaborate with team members to design and implement database solutions that meet client requirements.
  5. Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies to continuously improve database management processes.
  6. Conduct regular database audits to identify and address any potential security risks.
  7. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide timely and accurate solutions.
  8. Train and mentor junior database administrators on best practices and procedures.
  9. Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of databases with other systems.
  10. Create and maintain documentation for database processes, procedures, and standards.
  11. Proactively identify and address database performance bottlenecks and make recommendations for optimization.
  12. Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
  13. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and emergency database maintenance.
  14. Collaborate with vendors for database support and issue resolution.
  15. Continuously monitor and improve database security measures to protect against potential threats.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Db2 Mainframe: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working With Db2 Mainframe, Including Knowledge Of Installation, Configuration, And Maintenance Of Db2 Databases.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Mainframe Operating Systems: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Mainframe Operating Systems Such As Z/Os, Z/Vm, And Z/Linux. This Includes Knowledge Of Jcl, Tso, And Ispf.

  • Proficiency In Database Backup And Recovery: A Db2 Mainframe Dba Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Database Backup And Recovery Procedures, Including The Use Of Tools Such As Ibm's Recovery Manager (Rm).

  • Familiarity With Db2 Performance Tuning: The Candidate Should Be Able To Identify And Troubleshoot Performance Issues In Db2 Mainframe Databases. Knowledge Of Tools Such As Ibm's Performance Toolkit (Ptk) Is Preferred.

  • Strong Communication And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Db2 Mainframe Dba At Accenture, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Work Closely With Clients And Team Members To Identify And Resolve Database Issues. Strong Communication And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential For This Role.
