Job Description

At ABM Industries, we pride ourselves on maintaining clean and well-kept facilities for our clients. We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Groundskeeper. As a Groundskeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the exterior of our buildings and properties are maintained to the highest standards. We are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.   1. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, and walkways.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and watering.
  3. Monitor and report any issues or repairs needed for outdoor equipment and facilities.
  4. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and performing tasks.
  5. Work with a team to plan and execute seasonal landscaping projects.
  6. Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure satisfaction and timely completion of tasks.
  7. Keep accurate records of tasks completed and materials used.
  8. Continuously inspect grounds and report any potential hazards or safety concerns.
  9. Utilize problem-solving skills to address and resolve any issues that may arise.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the company.
  11. Stay up-to-date on industry standards and techniques for maintaining outdoor spaces.
  12. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  13. Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months.
  14. Work independently and efficiently to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  15. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Landscaping And Grounds Maintenance: A Successful Candidate For A Groundskeeper Job At Abm Industries Should Have Prior Experience In Landscaping And Grounds Maintenance, Including Knowledge Of Lawn Care, Tree And Shrub Maintenance, And Irrigation Systems.

  • Physical Stamina And Strength: Groundskeeping Is A Physically Demanding Job That Requires The Ability To Lift Heavy Equipment, Walk Or Stand For Extended Periods, And Perform Tasks In Various Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Capable Of Handling The Demands Of The Job.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Equipment: Groundskeepers Are Responsible For Operating And Maintaining Various Types Of Equipment, Such As Mowers, Trimmers, And Blowers. They Should Have A Good Understanding Of Safety Procedures And Be Familiar With Proper Equipment Usage To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.

  • Attention To Detail: A Successful Groundskeeper Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Spot Potential Issues With The Landscape, Such As Diseased Plants Or Damaged Irrigation Systems. They Should Also Have A Good Understanding Of Landscaping Design Principles To Ensure A Visually Appealing And Well-Maintained Property.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: Groundskeepers Often Work As Part Of A Team And Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Their Colleagues And Superiors. They Should Also Be Able To Take Direction And Work Collaboratively To Complete Tasks Efficiently And Effectively. Good Communication Skills Are Also Important When Interacting With Clients Or Residents On The Property.
