- Manage accounts receivable process: The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Ensure timely payments: The primary responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be to ensure that all payments are collected on time from customers. This will involve sending reminders, making collection calls, and resolving any payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records: The individual in this role will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions. This includes recording payments, updating customer information, and reconciling accounts.
- Collaborate with other departments: The Accounts Receivable Clerk will work closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve any billing or payment issues. They will also communicate with customers to provide information and resolve any concerns.
- Monitor and report on accounts receivable: The individual in this role will be responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting on the company's accounts receivable status. This includes preparing aging reports, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist with month-end close: The Accounts Receivable Clerk will assist the Finance team with month-end close processes, such as preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Uphold company policies and procedures: It is the responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Clerk to adhere to all company policies and procedures related to accounts receivable, including credit and collection policies.
- Continuously improve processes: The individual in this role will be expected to continuously evaluate and improve the accounts receivable process to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality: The Accounts Receivable Clerk will handle sensitive financial information and must maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Support team goals and initiatives: As a member of the Finance team, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be expected to support the team's goals and initiatives and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve them
Knowledge Of Accounting Principles: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Basic Accounting Principles And Be Familiar With Financial Statements, Journal Entries, And Other Accounting Processes.
Attention To Detail: Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Crucial In This Role, As The Accounts Receivable Clerk Will Be Responsible For Reconciling Accounts, Inputting Data, And Ensuring All Records Are Error-Free.
Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role. The Accounts Receivable Clerk Will Frequently Interact With Internal And External Stakeholders, Such As Customers, Vendors, And Other Departments Within The Company.
Organizational Skills: The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Manage A High Volume Of Work Is Important For An Accounts Receivable Clerk. This Role Involves Handling Multiple Customer Accounts, Processing Payments, And Maintaining Accurate Records, So Strong Organizational Skills Are A Must.
Experience With Accounting Software: Proficiency In Using Accounting Software, Such As Quickbooks Or Sap, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. Experience With Microsoft Excel And Other Ms Office Programs Is Also A Plus.
