1. Research and maintain comprehensive knowledge of trademark laws and regulations to ensure compliance and protection of AbbVie's trademarks.
2. Manage and maintain AbbVie's trademark portfolio, including conducting trademark searches, filing applications, and monitoring the status of existing trademarks.
3. Collaborate with attorneys to prepare and file trademark applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
4. Assist in the review and clearance of new trademarks, ensuring they do not infringe upon existing trademarks.
5. Conduct trademark due diligence for potential acquisitions or collaborations, providing recommendations and risk assessments.
6. Work closely with internal teams, such as marketing and product development, to identify and protect new trademarks for AbbVie products.
7. Maintain accurate and organized records of trademark registrations, renewals, and maintenance deadlines.
8. Assist in managing trademark enforcement efforts, including monitoring and addressing potential infringements and counterfeiting.
9. Coordinate with outside counsel on trademark matters and maintain relationships with external trademark agents.
10. Continuously monitor changes in trademark laws and regulations and provide updates and recommendations to the legal team and relevant departments.
11. Collaborate with the legal team to develop and implement trademark policies and procedures for the company.
12. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in trademark law and share knowledge with the legal team and relevant departments.
13. Handle administrative tasks related to trademarks, such as filing, docketing, and maintaining budget and expense reports.
14. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
15. Act as a brand ambassador for AbbVie, promoting and protecting the company's trademarks and reputation.
