- Lead and manage the bioinformatics team, providing guidance and mentoring to junior scientists.
- Design and implement cutting-edge bioinformatics strategies and methods to support drug discovery and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biologists, chemists, and clinicians to identify and validate novel drug targets.
- Analyze and interpret complex biological datasets to identify patterns and trends.
- Develop and maintain databases and software tools to manage and analyze large-scale genomic and proteomic data.
- Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into our drug discovery pipeline.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and present at internal and external meetings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies related to data management and sharing.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of external vendors and partnerships for bioinformatics support.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and patents.
- Mentor and train team members on bioinformatics techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for integration of bioinformatics into different areas of the company.
- Represent AbbVie at conferences and scientific meetings to showcase our bioinformatics capabilities.
Advanced Degree In Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computational Biology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In Bioinformatics, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry.
Strong Proficiency In Various Bioinformatics Tools And Programming Languages (E.g. Python, R, Perl).
Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Analyzing High-Throughput Genomics Data (E.g. Rna-Seq, Chip-Seq, Wes).
Proven Track Record Of Successful Project Management, Including Leading Cross-Functional Teams And Delivering Results Within Tight Timelines.
