Develop and implement scientific strategies for the rheumatology department at AbbVie.
Lead and manage a team of scientific experts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of scientific strategy with overall business objectives.
Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and trends in rheumatology research and incorporate them into the company's scientific plans.
Oversee and prioritize research projects and clinical trials related to rheumatology treatments.
Provide scientific expertise and guidance to support the development and commercialization of innovative treatments for rheumatic diseases.
Conduct thorough analysis and interpretation of scientific data to inform decision-making processes.
Represent AbbVie at scientific conferences, symposiums, and other industry events to build relationships and promote the company's scientific advancements.
Collaborate with external partners and key opinion leaders to drive strategic partnerships and initiatives in the field of rheumatology.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines in the development and commercialization of rheumatology treatments.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the rheumatology team.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding scientific matters related to rheumatology.
Contribute to the development of budget and resource allocation plans for the rheumatology department.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Rheumatology Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess An Advanced Degree In Rheumatology Or A Related Field Such As Immunology, Pharmacology, Or Biological Sciences. A Ph.d. Or Md With Board Certification In Rheumatology Is Highly Preferred.
Extensive Experience In Scientific Leadership: The Candidate Should Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In A Scientific Leadership Position, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Industry. This Includes Experience In Managing And Leading A Team Of Scientists, As Well As Developing And Executing Scientific Strategies.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Rheumatology: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, And Treatment Of Rheumatologic Diseases. This Includes A Strong Background In Immunology, Clinical Research, And Drug Development In The Field Of Rheumatology.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Senior Scientific Manager, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams, Presenting Scientific Data, And Building Relationships With Key Stakeholders. Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Identify And Solve Complex Scientific Problems. They Should Also Have A Strategic Mindset And The Ability To Anticipate And Address Potential Challenges In The Development Of New Treatments For Rheumatologic Diseases.
