Lead and manage a team of scientists to drive the development of innovative treatments for gastrointestinal diseases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research opportunities in the field of gastroenterology.
Develop and implement research strategies and plans to support the development of new treatments for patients.
Monitor and analyze scientific advancements and market trends in gastroenterology to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of scientific projects.
Mentor and develop team members through regular feedback, coaching, and training opportunities.
Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and external partners to support research efforts and advance the company's scientific reputation.
Participate in the review and evaluation of potential collaborations, partnerships, and licensing opportunities in the field of gastroenterology.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in all scientific activities.
Represent the company at scientific conferences and other external events to showcase our research and contribute to the scientific community.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resources for scientific projects.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and productivity within the team.
Stay up-to-date with industry and scientific developments and incorporate new knowledge and technologies into the team's work.
Communicate project updates, progress, and results to senior management and other stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Science: A Senior Scientific Manager At Abbvie Should Possess A Phd Or Equivalent Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field Such As Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Or Gastroenterology. This Level Of Education Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Scientific Principles And Research Methodologies.
Extensive Experience In Gastroenterology: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Gastroenterology Research, Preferably In A Leadership Role. This Experience Should Include A Track Record Of Successful Project Management, Publication Of Research Findings, And Presentation At Scientific Conferences.
Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Senior Scientific Manager Will Be Responsible For Overseeing The Work Of A Team Of Scientists And Researchers. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Management Skills Are Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Ability To Motivate And Inspire Team Members, Delegate Tasks Effectively, And Foster A Collaborative And Inclusive Work Environment.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Abbvie Is A Global Pharmaceutical Company, And The Senior Scientific Manager Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That All Research And Development Activities Comply With Local And International Regulatory Requirements. Therefore, A Thorough Understanding Of These Regulations And Experience Working Within A Regulated Environment Is Essential.
