Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing synthetic routes for the production of new drug candidates. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of life-changing therapies for patients.   1. Design and optimize synthetic routes for the production of new drug candidates.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement efficient and scalable processes.
  3. Conduct research and experiments to support process development and optimization.
  4. Utilize analytical techniques to analyze and characterize chemical reactions and compounds.
  5. Troubleshoot and solve process-related issues to ensure the successful production of high-quality drug candidates.
  6. Continuously evaluate and incorporate new technologies and methodologies to improve process efficiency and productivity.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records and data analysis.
  8. Communicate results and progress to team members and management through written reports and presentations.
  9. Adhere to strict safety and compliance protocols in the laboratory.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and contribute to the success of the team.
  11. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in process chemistry and share knowledge with the team.
  12. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to support process development and optimization.
  13. Contribute to the writing and review of regulatory filings and patents related to process chemistry.
  14. Continuously improve and optimize processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  15. Adhere to company values and culture, promoting collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Chemistry Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Chemistry Or A Closely Related Field Is Typically Required For A Scientist - Process Chemistry Position At Abbvie. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Chemical Principles And Laboratory Techniques.

  • Extensive Experience In Process Chemistry: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Process Chemistry, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Company. This Includes Knowledge Of Various Chemical Reactions, Process Optimization, And Scale-Up Techniques.

  • Familiarity With Gmp Regulations: Knowledge Of Good Manufacturing Practices (Gmp) Is Crucial For A Scientist - Process Chemistry At Abbvie. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Well-Versed In The Regulations And Guidelines For Pharmaceutical Manufacturing To Ensure The Quality And Safety Of The Final Products.

  • Proficiency In Analytical Techniques: A Scientist - Process Chemistry Must Be Proficient In Various Analytical Techniques Such As Hplc, Gc, And Nmr. This Enables Them To Analyze And Characterize Chemical Compounds And Intermediates During The Drug Development Process.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Communication Skills: As A Member Of The Research And Development Team, A Scientist - Process Chemistry Must Possess Excellent Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Colleagues And Superiors. They Should Also Be Able To Work Independently And Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced Environment.
