  1. Conduct analytical chemistry research and analysis to support the development of new medicines and therapies.
  2. Collaborate with a team of scientists and researchers to design and execute experiments and interpret data.
  3. Utilize advanced analytical techniques and equipment to characterize and identify compounds and molecules.
  4. Develop and validate new analytical methods to support drug discovery and development.
  5. Troubleshoot and optimize analytical methods and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
  7. Analyze and interpret data, and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
  8. Stay current with industry advancements and trends in analytical chemistry.
  9. Participate in project teams and provide analytical support and expertise.
  10. Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines in the laboratory.
  11. Contribute to the preparation and review of scientific reports and publications.
  12. Mentor and train junior scientists and interns.
  13. Take initiative and suggest innovative solutions to research and development challenges.
  14. Work independently and efficiently to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  15. Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and results.
  16. Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Control and Formulation, to support drug development.
  17. Participate in continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  18. Represent AbbVie and the Analytical Chemistry team in a professional and positive manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Chemistry Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Chemistry Or A Closely Related Field Is Typically Required For A Scientist, Analytical Chemistry Position At Abbvie. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Scientific Principles And Techniques.

  • Experience With Analytical Instrumentation: A Strong Understanding And Hands-On Experience With Various Analytical Instruments, Such As Hplc, Gc, And Mass Spectrometry, Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Expertise In Method Development, Validation, And Troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines: As Abbvie Is A Pharmaceutical Company, It Is Crucial For A Scientist In Analytical Chemistry To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Regulatory Guidelines, Such As Fda, Ich, And Usp, To Ensure Compliance In All Analytical Activities.
