Lead and direct the Checkpoint Immunology team in the design and execution of innovative research and development projects.
Drive the discovery and development of novel immunotherapies for the treatment of various diseases.
Establish and maintain a clear vision and strategy for the Checkpoint Immunology team in alignment with AbbVie's overall goals and objectives.
Mentor and develop a team of talented scientists, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional and personal goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to identify and evaluate potential drug targets and therapeutic candidates.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in the field of immunology and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into research projects.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and successful completion of project goals.
Present findings and progress updates to senior leadership and contribute to the development of scientific publications and patents.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the Checkpoint Immunology team.
Comply with all relevant regulatory and ethical guidelines and ensure that all research activities are conducted in a safe and ethical manner.

Job Qualifications

Phd In Immunology Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Phd In Immunology Or A Related Field With A Strong Background In Immune Checkpoint Biology And Drug Discovery.
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Industry Experience: The Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In The Biopharmaceutical Industry, With A Proven Track Record Of Leading Successful Immunology Drug Discovery Programs.
Expertise In Immune Checkpoint Biology: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Immune Checkpoint Pathways And Their Role In Regulating Immune Responses, As Well As Experience In Developing Therapeutic Agents Targeting These Pathways.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As The Head Of Checkpoint Immunology, The Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Lead A Team Of Scientists And Drive The Success Of The Immunology Discovery Program.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Work With Cross-Functional Teams, Present Data To Senior Management, And Build Relationships With External Partners.
