Lead and oversee the strategic direction and operations of the Medical Immunology department within AbbVie.
Develop and implement short-term and long-term goals for the department in alignment with the company's overall objectives.
Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team to drive groundbreaking research and development in the field of immunology.
Manage and mentor a team of scientists and clinicians, providing guidance, support, and resources to help them excel in their roles.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in medical immunology and incorporate them into the department's strategies and projects.
Oversee the design and execution of clinical trials and studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of potential immunology treatments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, marketing, and commercial teams, to ensure the successful development and launch of new immunology products.
Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and external partners to stay informed of industry trends and potential partnership opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical guidelines in the development and dissemination of medical information.
Represent AbbVie at conferences, symposiums, and other industry events to showcase the company's advancements and foster partnerships.
Communicate regularly with senior management and provide updates on the progress of projects, challenges, and opportunities within the Medical Immunology department.
Continuously evaluate and improve department processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Serve as a role model for the company's values and promote a culture of integrity, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Immunology Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Phd Or Md In Immunology Or A Closely Related Field. This Educational Background Provides A Strong Foundation Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Medical Immunology.
Extensive Experience In Drug Development: As The Head Of Medical Immunology, The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Leading Drug Development Programs In The Field Of Immunology. This Includes Experience In Preclinical And Clinical Research, As Well As Regulatory Approvals.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: The Head Of Medical Immunology Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Researchers And Scientists, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Guide And Motivate Their Team Towards Achieving Organizational Goals.
In-Depth Understanding Of Immunology Disease Areas: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Various Immunology Disease Areas, Including Autoimmune Diseases, Immunodeficiency Disorders, And Inflammatory Conditions. This Knowledge Will Be Essential In Identifying And Prioritizing Potential Drug Targets And Developing Innovative Treatment Strategies.
Proven Ability To Drive Innovation And Research: Abbvie Is Known For Its Innovative Approach To Drug Development, And The Head Of Medical Immunology Should Be Able To Drive This Culture Of Innovation Within Their Team. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Research Background And A Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Novel Strategies In The Field Of Immunology.
