Develop and implement statistical strategies that support the overall mission and goals of the organization.
Lead and manage a team of statisticians, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs, to design and execute clinical trials and other research projects.
Conduct statistical analyses and interpret results to support decision-making and drive drug development processes.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in statistical methodology, and proactively apply new techniques to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.
Provide statistical expertise and guidance to colleagues across departments, ensuring that all analyses and interpretations are accurate and scientifically sound.
Collaborate with external partners, including contract research organizations and academic institutions, to support research and development initiatives.
Take a lead role in regulatory submissions, ensuring that all statistical components are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant guidelines and regulations.
Effectively communicate statistical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory agencies.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the statistics team, encouraging creative thinking and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Participate in industry conferences and other events to share knowledge and promote the reputation of the organization as a leader in statistical innovation.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Statistics Or A Related Field: A Director Of Statistics Innovation At Abbvie Should Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Statistics, Biostatistics, Or A Related Field. A Phd In Statistics Is Preferred.
Extensive Experience In Statistical Methodology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry, With A Strong Background In Developing And Implementing Statistical Methodology.
Leadership Skills: As A Director, The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Leading And Managing A Team Of Statisticians, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams.
Strong Communication And Presentation Skills: The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Statistical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders And Present Findings And Recommendations To Senior Leadership.
Experience With Regulatory Submissions: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Regulatory Submissions And Be Familiar With Fda And Ich Guidelines For Clinical Trials. Previous Experience With Submissions For New Drug Applications (Ndas) Or Biologics License Applications (Blas) Is Highly Desirable.
