Develop and implement data science strategies to support AbbVie's mission and goals.
Lead and manage a team of data scientists to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of data science projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, R&D, and commercial teams, to identify and prioritize data science opportunities.
Use advanced data analytics techniques to identify insights and trends in large, complex datasets.
Develop and maintain data analytics tools and platforms to support data-driven decision making.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science and recommend solutions for improving data analytics capabilities.
Communicate complex data science concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of data science initiatives.
Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to data science projects.
Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the data science team.
Mentor and coach junior members of the data science team.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support data science initiatives.
Contribute to the development of data science best practices and standards.
Continuously evaluate and improve data science processes and workflows.
Participate in recruitment and hiring processes for the data science team.
Represent AbbVie at conferences, industry events, and other networking opportunities.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications

Advanced Degree In Data Science Or Related Field: The Data Science Program Lead Ii Role At Abbvie Requires A Strong Foundation In Data Science Principles And Practices. A Candidate For This Position Should Possess At Least A Master's Degree In Data Science Or A Related Field Such As Computer Science, Statistics, Or Mathematics.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Data Science: To Be Considered For The Data Science Program Lead Ii Position, Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Relevant Experience In Data Science, Preferably In A Leadership Role. This Experience Should Include Working With Large Datasets, Developing Predictive Models, And Leading Data-Driven Projects.
Proven Track Record In Program Management: As A Data Science Program Lead Ii, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Overseeing Multiple Data Science Projects And Programs. Therefore, They Should Have A Proven Track Record In Program Management, Including Experience In Developing Project Plans, Managing Timelines, And Delivering Projects On Schedule.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: The Data Science Program Lead Ii Will Be Leading A Team Of Data Scientists, Analysts, And Engineers, And Will Also Be Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams. Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role, Including The Ability To Clearly Articulate Complex Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
Experience In Pharmaceutical Or Healthcare Industry: Abbvie Is A Pharmaceutical Company, And The Data Science Program Lead Ii Role Will Be Focused On Using Data To Drive Insights And Decision-Making In This Industry. Therefore, Candidates With Previous Experience In The Pharmaceutical Or Healthcare Industry Will Be Preferred, As They Will Have A Better Understanding Of The Data And Business Challenges In This Field.
