Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation, or UIC, is one of about 200 Alaska Native village corporations created under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 in settlement of aboriginal land claims. Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation was incorporated in Alaska on April 19, 1973. UIC is one of Alaska’s largest companies with over 3,500 employees and over 45 subsidiaries that operate throughout almost all the U.S. States and in many foreign countries. UIC’s operations and our industries are very diverse and include projects ranging from high-tech IT, fiber optics, data collection, and many other military and logistics support services; to construction projects throughout all of the United States and in many extremely remote locations in the Arctic.
