We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pharmacy Resident PGY1 to join our team.As a Pharmacy Resident at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, gaining hands-on experience and expanding your clinical knowledge and skills. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about patient care and driven to excel in the field of pharmacy.To be considered for this role, you must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution and be eligible for licensure in the state of New Hampshire.   1. Provide exceptional patient care through accurate and timely medication dispensing and monitoring.
  2. Work collaboratively with experienced pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  3. Participate in patient care rounds and provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, drug information, and drug therapy recommendations.
  4. Attend and actively participate in regular departmental meetings, seminars, and educational programs.
  5. Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  6. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development by completing assigned projects, presentations, and research tasks.
  7. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and resolve medication-related problems and adverse drug reactions.
  8. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and medication safety.
  9. Comply with state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
  10. Serve as a role model for pharmacy students and technicians by promoting a positive learning environment and providing guidance and support as needed.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and hospital staff.
  12. Assist with the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and protocols to improve patient care and increase efficiency.
  13. Keep abreast of current trends and advancements in the field of pharmacy and share knowledge with colleagues and staff.
  14. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth and efficient operations, including inventory management and medication ordering.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the hospital's mission and values and represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree: Candidates Must Have A Pharmd Degree From An Accredited Pharmacy Program In Order To Be Considered For The Pgy1 Residency Program At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

  • Licensure In The State Of New Hampshire: All Applicants Must Be Licensed As A Pharmacist In The State Of New Hampshire Prior To The Start Of The Residency Program.

  • Strong Academic Performance: Candidates Should Have A Strong Academic Record, With A Minimum Gpa Of 3.0 On A 4.0 Scale. Preference May Be Given To Candidates With A Higher Gpa.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Pharmacy Resident, You Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Previous Experience In Pharmacy Practice: While Not Required, Previous Experience In A Pharmacy Setting, Such As Internships Or Rotations, Can Be Beneficial For Candidates Applying For The Pgy1 Residency Program At Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
