  1. Manage and oversee the implementation of the recycling program at Vanderbilt University.
  2. Educate and train staff, students, and faculty on proper recycling practices and procedures.
  3. Monitor and track recycling efforts and report on the progress and success of the program.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and teams to ensure the proper placement and collection of recycling bins throughout campus.
  5. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with recycling guidelines and regulations.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external recycling vendors and partners.
  7. Continuously seek out and implement new and innovative ways to improve the recycling program and increase sustainability efforts on campus.
  8. Monitor and maintain recycling equipment and supplies, and make recommendations for replacements or upgrades when necessary.
  9. Coordinate and participate in recycling events and initiatives to engage and educate the campus community.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current recycling and sustainability trends and developments, and share this knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders.
  11. Communicate and collaborate with other campus sustainability initiatives and programs to promote a comprehensive and integrated approach to sustainability.
  12. Maintain accurate records and data related to recycling efforts and provide regular reports to management.
  13. Act as a role model and advocate for sustainability and environmental responsibility within the campus community.
  14. Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to recycling and sustainability practices.
  15. Comply with all safety regulations and protocols while performing job duties.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Recycling Processes: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Recycling Process, Including Sorting, Processing, And Packaging Of Recyclable Materials.

  • Experience With Recycling Equipment: Previous Experience Operating And Maintaining Recycling Equipment, Such As Balers, Compactors, And Shredders, Is Essential For This Role.

  • Strong Attention To Detail: The Recycling Technician Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That All Recyclable Materials Are Properly Sorted And Processed According To The University's Recycling Guidelines.

  • Physical Fitness: This Position Requires Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects, Standing For Long Periods, And Working In Various Weather Conditions. The Candidate Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks.

  • Environmental Awareness: A Strong Commitment To Environmental Conservation And Sustainability Is Crucial For This Position. The Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Recycling Best Practices And A Passion For Promoting Environmentally Friendly Practices.
