- Provide individual and group therapy sessions for students who are identified as high-risk, including but not limited to those struggling with severe mental health issues, trauma, and crisis situations.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and techniques to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for students in need.
- Collaborate with other members of the High Risk Team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other therapists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for students.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and records of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and other relevant information.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for students in crisis, and provide appropriate referrals and follow-up care as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and best practices in counseling and mental health to continuously improve services and support for high-risk students.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to discuss student progress, share knowledge and expertise, and collaborate on treatment plans.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, including maintaining confidentiality and seeking appropriate consent from students for treatment.
- Provide crisis intervention services and support to students during after-hours and weekend on-call shifts on a rotating basis.
- Actively participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in working with high-risk individuals.
- Serve as an advocate for students and promote mental health awareness and resources on campus.
- Build and maintain positive and supportive relationships with students, faculty, and staff to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Contribute to the overall mission and goals of USC’s Counseling and Mental Health Services, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Represent USC in a professional and positive manner at all times, both on and off campus.
- Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion and promote a welcoming and supportive environment for all students seeking counseling and mental health support.
Master's Degree In Counseling, Psychology, Or Social Work From An Accredited University.
Licensed By The State Of California As A Marriage And Family Therapist (Lmft), Licensed Professional Counselor (Lpc), Or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Lcsw).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With High Risk Populations, Such As Individuals With Severe Mental Illness, Substance Abuse, Or Trauma.
Demonstrated Knowledge And Experience In Evidence-Based Practices For Treating Mental Health Disorders And Crisis Intervention.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team And Collaborate With Community Resources.
