Surgical Technician

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Surgical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment and to be part of a team that is focused on providing the highest level of care to our patients.We are seeking a Surgical Technician with at least two years of experience in a hospital or surgery center setting. The successful candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills. The successful candidate must also have the ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations. In addition, the successful candidate must possess a certification from an accredited surgical technology program. We are looking for an individual who is professional and passionate about providing the best possible care to our patients.

Responsibilities: • Assist surgeons in the operating room in a variety of surgical procedures • Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgery • Assist with the positioning, prepping, and draping of patients • Perform instrument counts and maintain accurate records • Maintain a clean and safe operating room environment • Assist in the transfer of patients to and from the operating room • Ensure that all equipment is in proper working order • Follow all hospital policies and safety regulations • Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful attitude when interacting with patients, family members, and healthcare team members • Assist with patient transfers and the setting up of medical equipment • Document patient care activities in patient records
