- Perform mammograms and other breast imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all infection control and safety guidelines.
- Assist in patient care, including preparing patients for procedures, answering any questions or concerns, and providing emotional support.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all procedures and patient information in accordance with hospital policies.
- Maintain and operate mammography equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
- Follow all radiation safety protocols and monitor radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in mammography technology and techniques.
- Educate patients on procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.

Certification In Mammography - The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Valid Certification In Mammography From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Demonstrates A Thorough Understanding Of The Principles Of Mammography Imaging And Ensures That The Candidate Is Well-Trained And Competent In Performing Mammograms.
Experience In Mammography - A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Mammography Tech Is Preferred For This Position. This Experience Should Include Performing Mammograms, Operating Mammography Equipment, And Working With Patients In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety - As A Mammography Tech, It Is Essential To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Radiation Safety Protocols And Procedures. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Proper Shielding Techniques, Patient Positioning, And Equipment Maintenance To Ensure The Safety Of Both Patients And Staff.
Strong Communication Skills - Being Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team Is Crucial For A Mammography Tech. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Educate Patients About The Mammography Procedure And Explain Results To Physicians.
Flexibility And Availability - This Position Requires A Per Diem, Varied Schedule, Which May Include Weekends And Holidays. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Flexible And Available To Work On Short Notice To Cover Shifts As Needed. This May Include Working At Different Locations Within The Universal Health Services Network.
