
Infection Control Nurse

- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures that comply with industry standards and regulations
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing infection control protocols and make necessary adjustments to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors
- Conduct regular infection control audits and inspections to identify potential risks or areas for improvement
- Educate and train staff on infection control best practices, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment usage, and waste disposal
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control measures for specific patient populations or units
- Keep up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in infection control, including new pathogens, treatments, and prevention methods
- Serve as a resource for staff, patients, and visitors regarding infection control and prevention measures
- Investigate and report any suspected or confirmed cases of healthcare-associated infections
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of infection control activities, including incident reports and data on infection rates
- Communicate with local health authorities as needed to report infectious disease outbreaks or other public health concerns.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.
Certification In Infection Control, Such As The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Infection Control, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Infection Prevention And Control Principles, Practices, And Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Staff On Infection Control Protocols And Procedures.
