
Nutrition Assistant

- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and visitors by warmly welcoming them to UCHealth and assisting with any nutrition-related inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with the dietitian and healthcare team to develop and implement personalized nutrition plans for patients, taking into consideration their specific medical needs and dietary restrictions.
- Conduct regular patient assessments to track progress and make necessary changes to nutrition plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including food intake logs and diet orders.
- Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Educate patients and their families on the importance of proper nutrition and how to make healthy food choices.
- Assist with meal planning and preparation, including special diets and therapeutic menus.
- Provide support and guidance to patients with special dietary needs, such as those with food allergies or diabetes.
- Stay up-to-date on current nutrition research and trends to continuously improve patient care and education.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of nutrition-related programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow all HIPAA regulations.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of nutrition.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or Related Field.
Certified Dietary Manager (Cdm) Or Registered Dietetic Technician (Dtr) Certification.
Experience In A Healthcare Or Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility.
Knowledge Of Nutrition Assessment And Education Techniques, Including Meal Planning And Modification.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Healthcare Professionals And Patients From Diverse Backgrounds.
