  1. Manage and maintain the Linux infrastructure for The Bank of New York Mellon, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with the Linux systems, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of Linux administration.
  3. Collaborate with other team members and departments to identify and implement improvements to the Linux infrastructure.
  4. Stay updated on the latest advancements in Linux technologies and make recommendations for their implementation within the bank's infrastructure.
  5. Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
  6. Create and maintain documentation for all Linux systems and processes, ensuring they are well-documented and easily accessible.
  7. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address any potential issues or vulnerabilities.
  8. Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems with other technologies and applications.
  9. Take part in on-call rotation and respond to any urgent issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  10. Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions accordingly.
  11. Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices in all Linux-related activities.
  12. Participate in planning and executing disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to Linux administration.
  14. Provide training and knowledge sharing sessions to other team members to enhance their understanding of Linux systems.
  15. Proactively identify and implement cost-saving measures related to the Linux infrastructure.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Managing And Maintaining Linux Servers In A Large Enterprise Environment, Preferably In The Banking Or Financial Sector.

  • Advanced Knowledge Of Linux Operating Systems, Including Red Hat, Centos, And Ubuntu, As Well As Proficiency In Shell Scripting And Automation Tools Such As Ansible And Puppet.

  • Strong Understanding Of Networking Concepts And Protocols, Including Tcp/Ip, Dns, Dhcp, And Ldap, With The Ability To Troubleshoot Network-Related Issues.

  • Proven Track Record Of Implementing And Managing Security Measures, Including Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, And Access Controls, To Ensure The Confidentiality, Integrity, And Availability Of Critical Systems And Data.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And Effectively Communicate Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
