Job Description

  1. Develop and implement outreach strategies to promote the services and resources of the law library to students, faculty, and staff.
  2. Collaborate with faculty and other librarians to design and deliver instructional sessions on legal research methods and resources.
  3. Create and maintain online research guides and tutorials for students to access.
  4. Provide individual research consultations to students and faculty.
  5. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in legal research and incorporate them into instructional methods.
  6. Act as a liaison between the law library and other departments and organizations within the university.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with legal professionals and organizations to enhance resources and opportunities for students.
  8. Serve as a resource for faculty and students on copyright and fair use issues related to legal research.
  9. Coordinate and participate in library events and workshops aimed at promoting legal literacy and research skills.
  10. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach and instruction efforts and make recommendations for improvements.
  11. Train and supervise other library staff and student workers involved in outreach and instruction activities.
  12. Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of law librarianship.
  13. Collaborate with other librarians and university departments to develop and promote interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  14. Maintain and update collection of legal research materials and resources.
  15. Contribute to the development and implementation of the law library's strategic plan.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Library And Information Science From An Ala-Accredited Institution.

  • Juris Doctor Degree From An Aba-Accredited Law School.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience As A Law Librarian, Preferably In An Academic Setting.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Implementing Outreach And Instruction Programs In A Law Library.

  • Knowledge Of Current Trends And Best Practices In Legal Research, Instruction, And Outreach Methods.
