
Medical Assistant - Dermatology Surgery

- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients in the Dermatology Surgery department.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in performing dermatology and surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures by taking vital signs, obtaining medical history, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients about their condition, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
- Monitor and record patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
- Collaborate with other medical staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously update and maintain knowledge of dermatology and surgical procedures, including new techniques and equipment.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, obtaining insurance authorizations, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on hospital policies and procedures.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the hospital and maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates For This Position Should Have Completed A Formal Education Program For Medical Assistants, Which Includes Courses In Anatomy, Medical Terminology, And Clinical Procedures.
Certification As A Medical Assistant: Providence St. Patrick Hospital May Require Candidates To Hold A Current Certification From A Recognized Certifying Body, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Experience In A Dermatology Surgery Setting: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Dermatology Surgery Practice Or A Similar Setting, With Knowledge Of Dermatology Procedures And Treatments.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Medical Assistant Will Be Required To Communicate With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential.
Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems: Providence St. Patrick Hospital May Require Candidates To Have Experience Using Electronic Medical Record Systems, As This Is An Essential Tool For Documenting Patient Care And Managing Medical Records In A Fast-Paced Dermatology Surgery Environment.
