Job Description

Providence St. Joseph Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional nutritional care. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, be a registered dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and have at least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.   1. Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for patients based on their medical history, current health status, and dietary needs.
  2. Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust nutrition care plans as needed.
  3. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  4. Educate patients and their families on proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.
  5. Conduct nutrition assessments, including collecting and analyzing data such as food intake, medical history, and laboratory values.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and evidence-based practices in the field of nutrition.
  7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient treatment plans.
  8. Communicate and document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and timely.
  9. Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards related to nutrition care.
  10. Provide guidance and support to less experienced dietitians or nutrition professionals.
  11. Develop and deliver nutrition education programs for the community.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of work.
  14. Attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  15. Collaborate with food service staff to ensure that patient meals meet their dietary needs and preferences.
  16. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  17. Work with insurance companies to obtain coverage for nutrition services.
  18. Provide excellent customer service and patient care.
  19. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  20. Serve as a resource and mentor for colleagues and students.

Job Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Credential From The Commission On Dietetic Registration.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics From An Accredited University.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Nutrition Practices And Ability To Develop Individualized Nutrition Plans For Patients.
