We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Paramedic to join our team at Mercy on a PRN (as needed) basis. As a Paramedic, you will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need. - Provide emergency medical care to patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Assess and prioritize patients' medical needs and determine appropriate treatment plan.
- Administer medications and perform advanced medical procedures, such as intubation and IV therapy, as needed.
- Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment, including defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and other lifesaving devices.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with other emergency medical personnel, including EMTs, nurses, and doctors.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient encounters and treatments.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Stay up-to-date on current medical practices and participate in ongoing training and education.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with patients and their families.
- Represent the organization positively and uphold its values and mission.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, as well as HIPAA regulations.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Assist with routine tasks and duties, such as restocking supplies and cleaning vehicles, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients.
Bls, Acls, And Pals Certifications.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Paramedic In An Emergency Or Critical Care Setting.
Current Certification As A Paramedic By The National Registry Of Emergency Medical Technicians (Nremt).
Active And Unrestricted State License As A Paramedic.
Ability To Work Variable Shifts And Be On-Call As Needed.
