  1. Assist in the management of patients with diabetes by providing support and care to help them improve their overall health.
  2. Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care and support to patients.
  3. Perform various medical procedures, such as administering medications and taking vital signs, under the direction of a physician.
  4. Oversee patient schedules and ensure that all necessary appointments and follow-up visits are scheduled.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and test results.
  6. Educate patients on diabetes management, including proper nutrition, exercise, and medication management.
  7. Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
  9. Adhere to all regulatory standards and guidelines for patient care and documentation.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on medical advancements and procedures related to diabetes care.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant: A Certification As A Medical Assistant Is A Necessary Qualification For This Role, Demonstrating A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Patient Care.

  • Experience With Diabetes Care: Mercy Is Seeking A Medical Assistant With Specific Experience In Diabetes Care Management. This Includes Knowledge Of Insulin Administration, Glucose Monitoring, And Education On Diet And Lifestyle Management For Patients With Diabetes.

  • Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Proficiency: The Ability To Navigate And Document In An Electronic Health Record System Is Crucial For This Position, As Mercy Utilizes Ehr To Manage Patient Information And Track Diabetes Care Outcomes.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Medical Assistant In Diabetes Care Management, Effective Communication With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. This Includes Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As Active Listening And Empathy.
