We are currently seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Epilepsy Surgery Nurse Navigator to join our team. As a Nurse Navigator, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through their journey of epilepsy surgery, providing them with the necessary resources and support to help them make informed decisions about their treatment. We are looking for a highly organized and empathetic individual with a strong clinical background in neurology or neurosurgery.   1. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and their families throughout their journey of epilepsy surgery, providing support, education, and guidance.
  2. Conduct initial consultations with patients to assess their needs, concerns, and goals for epilepsy surgery.
  3. Collaborate with the medical team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, taking into consideration their medical history, current symptoms, and personal preferences.
  4. Educate patients on the risks, benefits, and alternatives of epilepsy surgery, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of their options.
  5. Coordinate appointments and procedures for patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient care.
  6. Assist patients with insurance and financial matters related to epilepsy surgery, providing resources and guidance as needed.
  7. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing any fears, worries, or questions they may have.
  8. Ensure all patient information and documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
  9. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in epilepsy surgery, and share this knowledge with patients and their families.
  10. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and their rights are protected.
  11. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide patients with additional support and resources as needed.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, ensuring patient privacy and trust is maintained.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of Massachusetts.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Neurology Nursing, With A Focus On Epilepsy.

  • Certification In Neuroscience Nursing (Cnrn) Preferred.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Epilepsy Surgical Procedures And Post-Operative Care.
