- Prepare and process tissue samples for analysis and diagnosis, following established protocols and procedures.
- Perform embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting of tissue samples with precision and accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory work area and equipment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and notify supervisor as needed.
- Adhere to safety and quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Keep detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on new techniques and technologies in histology.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate results.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
- Uphold the organization's standards of professionalism, ethics, and customer service.
- Support and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Participate in training and mentoring of new team members.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Associate's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory Setting.
Proficient In Performing Routine And Specialized Histological Procedures, Including Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, And Immunohistochemistry.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Regulations, Including Handling And Disposal Of Hazardous Materials.
