Job Description

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Research Protection Coordinator to join our team! As a vital member of our organization, the Human Research Protection Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies while providing programmatic support to the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of project management, the research process, and human subjects protection regulations.This position requires a high level of knowledge, skill, and experience in the areas of research integrity, regulatory compliance, and research administration. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders. The Human Research Protection Coordinator will have the opportunity to work with the HRPP leadership to shape and improve the program. Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies related to human research protection.
  2. Provide programmatic support to the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).
  3. Demonstrate a clear understanding of project management, the research process, and human subjects protection regulations.
  4. Possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  6. Contribute to the shaping and improvement of the HRPP.
  7. Monitor and report on the progress of the research projects.
  8. Facilitate communication between research teams and the HRPP.
  9. Ensure research teams are informed of all relevant regulations and policies.
  10. Act as a resource to research teams on human research protection topics.
