Job Description

Harvard University is seeking an experienced, highly motivated IT Vendor Management Portfolio Manager to join our team. The IT Vendor Management Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful management and oversight of our IT vendors, ensuring that we maintain strong relationships and receive high-quality services.   1. Develop and implement vendor management strategies to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of IT services and solutions.
  2. Monitor and evaluate vendor performance against agreed upon service levels, contracts, and key performance indicators.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT vendor needs and requirements.
  4. Facilitate vendor selection processes, including RFPs and contract negotiations, to ensure the best value and quality for the institution.
  5. Maintain and cultivate positive relationships with IT vendors, serving as the main point of contact for all vendor-related matters.
  6. Conduct regular vendor reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contracts and service level agreements.
  7. Proactively identify potential risks and issues with IT vendors and develop mitigation plans to address them.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the institution and IT vendors, effectively communicating any changes, updates, or concerns.
  9. Ensure that all IT vendor contracts and agreements are properly documented, tracked, and renewed in a timely manner.
  10. Monitor industry trends and advancements to identify potential new vendors or technologies that could benefit the institution.
  11. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance and value of IT vendors.
  12. Collaborate with project managers and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and coordination with IT vendor services.
  13. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to vendor management and ensure compliance.
  14. Manage the IT vendor budget and expenses, ensuring that costs are aligned with the institution's overall financial goals and objectives.
  15. Mentor and train junior team members on vendor management best practices and processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Information Technology Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Vendor Management And Contract Negotiations.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Vendors And Projects Simultaneously.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Vendors And Internal Stakeholders.

  • Knowledge Of It Industry Trends And Best Practices, With The Ability To Identify And Implement Cost-Effective Solutions For The University.
