  1. Manage the overall editorial direction and vision of Harvard Magazine.
  2. Curate and select content that aligns with the publication's mission and showcases the achievements of Harvard University and its community.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of writers, editors, and contributors to produce high-quality, thought-provoking content.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and students at Harvard University to stay informed of the latest research and ideas.
  5. Conduct thorough research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility of all published content.
  6. Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure the visual and editorial elements of the publication complement each other.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the publication's content and audience engagement.
  8. Monitor and analyze audience feedback and engagement to inform future editorial decisions.
  9. Write and edit articles, features, and other content as needed.
  10. Attend and participate in editorial meetings and provide insights and suggestions for upcoming issues.
  11. Oversee the editorial budget and ensure resources are used effectively.
  12. Represent Harvard Magazine at events and conferences to promote the publication and build relationships with potential partners and contributors.
  13. Uphold the publication's standards and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
  14. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to promote and distribute the publication.
  15. Continuously strive for excellence and innovation in all aspects of the editorial process.

Job Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree In Journalism, Communications, Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Editing And Writing For Print And Digital Publications.

  • Proven Ability To Work With A Team And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.

  • Strong Understanding Of The Harvard University Brand And Ability To Maintain Its High Editorial Standards.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With A Keen Attention To Detail And Accuracy In All Aspects Of Editing.
