- Develop and implement a strategic product selection and purchasing plan for the assigned category in order to meet sales and profitability goals.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and competitive landscape, and use this information to make informed decisions on product selection and pricing.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, terms, and promotional opportunities for the products within the category.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, inventory management, and store operations, to ensure a cohesive merchandising strategy across all channels.
- Monitor and track sales and inventory levels, and make adjustments as necessary to optimize product mix and maximize profitability.
- Work closely with the visual merchandising team to ensure that products are displayed in an appealing and organized manner in stores.
- Regularly review and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the category.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and actively seek out new partnerships to expand the product offering within the category.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences to continuously improve the category's performance.
- Provide guidance and support to the merchandising team, including training and development, to ensure a high level of performance and achievement of goals.
A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Retail Merchandising And Category Management.
Strong Knowledge Of The Tools And Equipment Industry, Including Market Trends And Competitor Analysis.
Proven Track Record Of Driving Sales And Profitability Through Effective Category Strategies And Product Assortment Planning.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Data And Make Informed Decisions.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills To Collaborate With Vendors And Cross-Functional Teams To Achieve Category Goals.
