
Staff Engineer – IaaS SRE

- Design and maintain the infrastructure automation processes for Geico's IaaS platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the IaaS platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to the infrastructure.
- Utilize cloud technologies to optimize and enhance the performance of the IaaS platform.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in infrastructure automation and cloud technologies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to foster their growth and development.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
- Conduct regular maintenance and monitoring of the IaaS platform to ensure its stability and reliability.
- Identify and implement security measures to protect the IaaS platform from potential threats.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their infrastructure needs and provide solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support and resolve any urgent issues outside of regular business hours.

- Continuously evaluate and update the IaaS platform to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the company.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Computer Science Is Essential For A Staff Engineer – Iaas Sre Role, As It Requires A Deep Understanding Of Systems Architecture, Network Infrastructure, And Programming Languages.
Experience With Infrastructure-As-A-Service (Iaas) Platforms: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working With Iaas Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Gcp. They Should Be Well-Versed In Provisioning, Configuring, And Optimizing Cloud Infrastructure.
Proficiency In Scripting And Automation: Staff Engineers – Iaas Sres Should Have Strong Scripting Skills, Including Experience With Tools Such As Python, Bash, And Powershell. They Should Also Have A Deep Understanding Of Automation Tools Like Ansible, Chef, Or Puppet.
Knowledge Of Site Reliability Engineering (Sre) Principles: Geico Auto Insurance Values A Strong Understanding Of Sre Principles, Including The Ability To Implement And Maintain Monitoring, Alerting, And Incident Response Processes And Procedures.
