- Provide overall leadership and direction to the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team.
- Oversee the clinical operations and ensure the highest standards of care are being met for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients.
- Collaborate with other department heads and medical staff to develop and implement policies and procedures for the PICU.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in pediatric cardiac intensive care and implement best practices in the unit.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff and provide feedback for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with patients and their families to ensure their needs are being met.
- Participate in patient rounds and provide guidance and support to the medical team.
- Manage the unit's budget and resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for other medical staff and residents.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other medical staff.
- Provide education and training opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Serve as a liaison between the PICU and other departments within the hospital.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Attend and participate in hospital meetings, committees, and conferences.
- Represent the PICU in a professional manner at all times.
- Serve as a resource for families and provide support and guidance during difficult times.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided in the PICU.
Medical Degree (Md Or Do) From An Accredited Institution.
Board Certification In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine And Pediatric Cardiology.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Leadership Role In A Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Demonstrated Expertise In Managing Complex Cardiac Cases And Familiarity With Cutting-Edge Treatments And Technologies.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Mentorship To Fellow Physicians And Trainees.
