Job Description

Welcome to the City of Pittsburgh! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Co-Response Clinician to join our team and provide essential mental health support to our community. As a Co-Response Clinician, you will work alongside law enforcement officers to respond to crisis situations and provide immediate assistance to individuals experiencing mental health issues. We are looking for individuals with a strong background in mental health and crisis intervention, who are also able to build rapport and connect with diverse populations.   1. Provide mental health support to individuals in crisis situations, including de-escalating tense situations and providing immediate assistance.
  2. Collaborate and work closely with law enforcement officers to respond to emergency calls and provide a coordinated response.
  3. Conduct assessments to determine the individual's mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  4. Offer counseling and therapy services to individuals in need, using evidence-based interventions and techniques.
  5. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and services provided.
  6. Advocate for individuals with mental illness by promoting awareness and reducing stigma within the community.
  7. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to ensure individuals receive the necessary support and services.
  8. Maintain regular communication with the team to discuss cases, share resources, and provide support to one another.
  9. Continuously stay updated on the latest research and techniques in the field of mental health and crisis intervention.
  10. Participate in trainings and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to the job responsibilities.
  11. Build rapport and establish trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.
  12. Work with individuals and their families to develop coping skills and strategies for managing mental health issues.
  13. Provide crisis intervention services, including referrals to appropriate resources, when needed.
  14. Act as a liaison between individuals, law enforcement, and other community resources to ensure a coordinated and effective response.
  15. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, as well as guidelines set by the City of Pittsburgh.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work, Counseling, Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Crisis Intervention And Mental Health Treatment

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices And Trauma-Informed Care

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With Law Enforcement And Community Agencies

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including Experience With De-Escalation Techniques.
