1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant, including monitoring and adjusting treatment processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing maintenance and repair plans.
2. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the wastewater treatment plant, and ensure that all staff are trained and following these procedures.
3. Monitor and evaluate plant performance, and implement improvements and corrective actions as needed to maintain efficient and effective operations.
4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and permits.
5. Lead and manage a team of operators, technicians, and other staff, providing guidance, training, and support to promote a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
6. Develop and manage the plant budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses, and making recommendations for improvements and cost-saving measures.
7. Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities, and ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintained.
8. Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
9. Prepare reports and presentations on plant operations, performance, and regulatory compliance for management, city officials, and regulatory agencies.
10. Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and make recommendations for updates and improvements to plant operations and processes.
