Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where every day our dedicated team works to provide the highest quality care to our young patients. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sports Medicine Physical Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with young athletes and help them recover from sports-related injuries, as well as provide preventative care and education to promote overall health and wellness. If you are a skilled Physical Therapist with a passion for working with children and a strong background in sports medicine, we encourage you to apply.   1. Conduct physical therapy evaluations and develop treatment plans for young patients with sports-related injuries.
  2. Provide individualized treatment and rehabilitation services to young athletes, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities.
  3. Monitor and track progress of patients and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  4. Educate patients and their families on injury prevention and proper techniques for sports activities.
  5. Collaborate with physicians, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for young athletes.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in sports medicine to provide the best possible care to patients.
  8. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice set by the American Physical Therapy Association and state regulations.
  9. Comply with hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
  10. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans and goals.
  11. Act as an advocate for young patients and their families, providing emotional support and addressing any concerns or questions.
  12. Attend continuing education courses and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills in sports medicine and pediatric physical therapy.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
  15. Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and promote overall health and wellness in the pediatric population.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Physical Therapy (Dpt) Degree From An Accredited Program.

  • Current State Licensure As A Physical Therapist In Pennsylvania.

  • Certification In Sports Physical Therapy (Scs) From The American Board Of Physical Therapy Specialties.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Sports Medicine, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Common Pediatric Sports Injuries And Treatments, As Well As Experience In Developing And Implementing Individualized Treatment Plans For Young Athletes.
