- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy program, including staff management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of medications and supplies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in pharmacy practice, and make recommendations for implementing new technologies or processes to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the medical staff to ensure appropriate medication prescribing, monitoring, and administration practices.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to pharmacy operations and patient safety.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for medication management, storage, and distribution.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to pharmacy staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Monitor and analyze pharmacy performance metrics, such as medication errors and inventory management, and make necessary adjustments to improve overall pharmacy operations.
- Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and other hospital departments, communicating effectively to promote collaboration and interdisciplinary care.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to pharmacy staff to maintain high levels of job performance and job satisfaction.

- Represent the pharmacy program in meetings and committees, advocating for the needs and priorities of the department.

Advanced Degree In Pharmacy: The Ideal Candidate For A Pharmacy Program Director At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Should Possess A Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree Or Equivalent From An Accredited Institution.
Pharmacy Licensure: The Candidate Should Have A Valid And Current License To Practice Pharmacy In The State Of California. This Is A Requirement For Any Pharmacy Leadership Position At Cedars-Sinai.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Pharmacy Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Budgeting, Resource Management, And Staff Supervision.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Compliance: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Pharmacy Operations, Including But Not Limited To Medication Safety, Controlled Substances, And Compounding.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Pharmacy Program Director, The Candidate Will Be Required To Collaborate With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders, Including Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, And Administrators.
