  1. Monitor store entrances and exits to identify and deter potential theft and fraud.
  2. Conduct routine security checks throughout the store to ensure safety and security.
  3. Maintain a high level of alertness and awareness while on the sales floor.
  4. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding any suspicious activity.
  5. Follow company procedures for handling theft and fraud incidents.
  6. Keep accurate records of all security incidents and report them to management.
  7. Assist in training new team members on loss prevention procedures.
  8. Keep up-to-date with company policies and procedures regarding theft and fraud prevention.
  9. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement strategies to reduce shrinkage.
  10. Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  11. Handle customer inquiries and complaints regarding loss prevention with professionalism and empathy.
  12. Adhere to all safety and security protocols to ensure the well-being of customers and team members.
  13. Continuously look for ways to improve loss prevention processes and procedures.
  14. Maintain a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.
  15. Remain flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.

  • Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Techniques: A Successful Store Associate In Shortage Control Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Loss Prevention Techniques And Strategies. This Includes Knowledge Of Surveillance Systems, Inventory Management, And Operational Procedures To Detect And Prevent Theft.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial For A Store Associate In Shortage Control. They Must Be Able To Spot Suspicious Behavior Or Discrepancies In Inventory And Take Appropriate Action.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In A Retail Environment, Especially When It Comes To Shortage Control. A Store Associate Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Calmly With Customers, Team Members, And Management In Various Situations Related To Theft And Loss Prevention.

  • Physical Stamina: A Store Associate In Shortage Control May Be Required To Stand, Walk, And Move Around The Store For Extended Periods. They Must Have The Physical Stamina To Perform Their Duties, Including Monitoring Surveillance Cameras, Conducting Physical Checks Of Merchandise, And Apprehending Suspected Shoplifters.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: As A Part-Time Position, A Store Associate In Shortage Control May Be Required To Work A Variety Of Shifts, Including Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays. Flexibility In Scheduling Is Necessary To Ensure Adequate Coverage And Respond To Potential Incidents Of Theft Or Loss.
