  1. Manage financial aspects of sponsored research grants and contracts: The Grant/Contract Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our sponsored research grants and contracts. This includes monitoring budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with funding agency regulations.
  2. Maintain accurate financial records: The Grant/Contract Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records related to sponsored research grants and contracts. This includes recording all financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
  3. Ensure compliance with funding agency regulations: The Grant/Contract Accountant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines set by funding agencies. This includes staying up-to-date with any changes in regulations and making sure all financial activities are in line with these regulations.
  4. Budget management: The Grant/Contract Accountant will work closely with the research team to develop and monitor project budgets. They will also be responsible for identifying any potential budget issues and making recommendations for budget adjustments as needed.
  5. Prepare financial reports: The Grant/Contract Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. This may include reports for funding agencies, department heads, and senior leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Grant And Contract Accounting, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Federal, State, And Private Grant Regulations And Compliance Requirements.

  • Proficiency In Accounting Software And Financial Reporting Systems, Such As Peoplesoft Or Oracle.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With A High Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
