Job Description

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Unit Secretary – Operating Room who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and have a personal desire to serve patients and their families. A successful candidate should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task. The Unit Secretary – Operating Room is responsible for providing administrative support to the Operating Room staff and for facilitating communication between clinical and administrative staff.Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent• Minimum of one year secretarial experience in a healthcare setting• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills• Strong attention to detail• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients and their families, and provide excellent customer service.
  2. Manage patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  3. Coordinate patient appointments and scheduling.
  4. Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies.
  5. Prepare and process all paperwork related to patient treatments.
  6. Monitor patient flow in the Operating Room and ensure that all staff are up to date on schedules and treatments.
  7. Monitor and respond to all incoming calls, emails, and faxes.
  8. Assist with the preparation of patient charts and records.
  9. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
