Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at the Plastics and Hand Clinic. As a CMA in this specialized clinic, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our team of plastic surgeons and hand specialists to provide top-quality care to patients seeking reconstructive or corrective procedures.   1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, making them feel comfortable and at ease during their visit to the clinic.
  2. Assist patients with check-in procedures, including verifying personal and insurance information, and collecting necessary documents or forms.
  3. Prepare examination rooms and ensure that they are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients to gather and record medical history, current symptoms, and any other pertinent information.
  5. Provide support to the plastic surgeons and hand specialists during procedures, including handing instruments, holding equipment, and anticipating their needs.
  6. Administer medications and injections, as directed by the physicians, and record information accurately in patient charts.
  7. Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, and collecting samples for lab tests.
  8. Educate patients on post-procedure care and answer any questions they may have.
  9. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  10. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of patient appointments, procedures, and progress.
  11. Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, and managing patient flow within the clinic.
  12. Ensure that all equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained according to clinic and industry standards.
  13. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the clinic.
  14. Continuously update knowledge and skills through attending trainings, workshops, and conferences to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Ascension Health by providing compassionate and quality care to all patients.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Certification: The Primary Qualification For This Job Is A Valid Cma Certification.
