- Assess and manage risks associated with trade finance transactions in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial documents, credit reports, and other relevant information to determine the viability of trade finance transactions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and evaluate information necessary for underwriting decisions.
- Utilize industry knowledge and expertise to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Review and approve or decline trade finance transactions based on established underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
- Communicate underwriting decisions and rationale to stakeholders, including clients and brokers.
- Monitor and manage existing trade finance transactions, including renewals and modifications, to ensure compliance with risk management strategies.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments to continuously improve underwriting processes and procedures.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior underwriters on best practices and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and legal, to resolve any issues related to underwriting decisions.
Strong Analytical Skills: A Senior Underwriter-Trade Finance At American International Group Should Possess Excellent Analytical Skills To Assess The Risk Associated With Various Trade Finance Transactions And Make Informed Decisions.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Trade Finance: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Trade Finance Products, Services, And Processes To Effectively Evaluate And Underwrite Trade Transactions.
Experience In Credit Risk Assessment: A Senior Underwriter-Trade Finance Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Credit Risk Assessment In The Trade Finance Industry, With A Track Record Of Successful Underwriting And Risk Management.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Constant Communication And Collaboration With Clients, Colleagues, And Other Stakeholders. The Candidate Should Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Build And Maintain Relationships.
Bachelor's Degree In Finance Or Related Field: A Senior Underwriter-Trade Finance Should Have A Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Economics, Or A Related Field. A Master's Degree Or Professional Certification In Trade Finance Or Risk Management Is Preferred.
